Object of study – Kyiv-Pechersk monastery in the 17th – beginning of the 20th century and museum institutions, which was based on its territory in the first third of the twentieth century.The subject of the study is documents from the former archives of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and other ecclesiastical and secular institutions historically connected with the monastery or its territory.The purpose of the work is to carry out a comprehensive study, synthesis and analysis of sources from the history of the Kyiv-Pechersk monastery; to verify, clarify and supplement the source base from the history of the Pechersk monastery. Method of research – the basis of the work is based on the general scientific principles of historicism, comprehensiveness and objectivity, methods of formal logic: analysis, synthesis, generalization, complexity and systematic; special historical and source methods: problem-chronological, historical-comparative, retrospective, heuristic, unique, paleographic, source-criticism; textual methods, visual study of the manuscript; specific problematic and interdisciplinary methods.The main source base for the study of various aspects of the history of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Preserve are archival materials.
