The aim of the study is to determine the common features and features of the transformation of the post-colonial space of Eastern Europe into national states, to develop radical movements in them, to identify the causes of intolerance and xenophobia, to establish the points of cultural transfer and understanding. Research Methods - Theoretical concepts developed by modern humanitarian discourse in studies of the transformation and disintegration of empires, the formation and development of nationalism, intercultural transfer, demographic studies, the history of ideas, and imagology. The most recent theoretical approaches to the research problem are summarized and analyzed; historiographic analysis of contemporary world and national literature with the identification of poorly researched and perspective research fields has been carried out; identified the main range of research sources; common features and peculiarities of influence of "imperial" and "colonial" situation in the newly created national states of Eastern Europe in the first half of the twentieth century are determined. Modern humanitarian discourse has developed theoretical concepts for the study of the transformation and disintegration of empires, the emergence and development of nationalism, intercultural transfer, demographic studies, the history of ideas, imagination and more. In particular, instead of the traditional center-periphery approach to the history of empires, an approach that shifts the focus to translocal, transregional and transnational approaches is used. The contemporary foreign and domestic historiography of imperial history and national historical narratives is analyzed. National historical narratives have always been manifested by public policy projects, and its figures have seen their purpose in reconciling history, cultural memory, and politics.
