The aim: to increase the effectiveness of complex treatment of patients with secondary-edematous breast cancer by personalizing on the basis of determining the role of inflammatory and edematous processes. Research methods and techniques: clinical and instrumental, biochemical, electron microscopic, morphological, immunohistochemical, statistical. Theoretical and practical results: a method for assessing the severity of perifocal swelling of the skin in patients with secondary-edematous breast cancer is developed, which allowed to assess the severity of perifocal edema of the skin of the breast, objectively assess the intensity of swelling of the parenchyma of the breast gland in its tumor, reduce treatment time, reduce the aggressiveness of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients. Patients with a VEGF / IL-6 ratio of greater than 1.3 (ie, a pronounced inflammatory component) should be advised to include long-term anti-inflammatory therapy with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Novelty: it is proved that in the majority of patients with SEBC before nonadjuvant therapy there is an increased content of the proangiogenic factor VEGF and the proinflammatory cytokine IL-6, which indicates the aggressiveness of the tumor process. The relationship between the concentration of the proangiogenic factor VEGF, the proinflammatory cytokine IL-6, their correlation and the objective response to treatment (by regression) was first determined, which evaluated the direct effect of non-adjuvant therapy on patients with SEBC. The effectiveness of implementation: improving the effectiveness of complex therapy for patients with secondary-edematous breast cancer. Area of application: oncology and radiation medicine.
