DATABASE, GIS, SOIL, HOLOCENE, PALEOSOIL. The object of study paleo soil studies of Holocene plains of Ukraine. The aim of this work was to create a single standardized spatial database based on structured results paleo soil research within the plain part of Ukraine. Methods – General scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, modeling, etc) interdisciplinary and specific scientific methods (comparative-geographical, spatial analysis and cartographic method). Acquiring and spatial reference the data was carried out using open source software (Open source), it is primarily Google Earth, QGIS, QGIS Cloud, Libre Office, Gimp etc. In the scientific work we describe the Holocene as a stage in anthropogene period in the history of Earth and its place in the General geological history. The importance of paleosoil studies as for studying the nature of Holocene. Scientists' publications became the basis for filling the database. Developed the gradual formation of the spatial database paleo soil research of the Holocene the plain territory of Ukraine and carried out its representation. The prospects for expanding this database have been identified. The novelty of the work lies in the development and creation of a unified database paleo soil research on the territory of Ukraine. The database includes the geographical coordinates of the places of research, their physic-geographical and spatial data (124 key areas, 187 soil profiles), standardized descriptive information, references, photos, tables, and developed methodological scheme for further filling.
