The aim of the GDR is to substantiate hygiene principles and criteria for the planning and development of settlements, taking into account the latest domestic and international experience in order to create safe living conditions and preserve public health. Research methods: expert evaluation, hygienic, analytical, sanitary-statistical, risk assessment method. Obtained results: The current sanitary and international legislation in the field of planning and development of settlements has been studied and analyzed, and a risk approach has been developed to justify SPAs of enterprises in the rural territory of settlements. New standards for the size of sanitary protection zones for different types of enterprises are scientifically substantiated. On the basis of the performed researches, a draft of the new version of the State Sanitary Rules for the Planning and Development of Settlements was developed.
