As is known, methods of surface hardening and restoration of worn parts are associated with the formation of the metal structure under conditions of high unevenness of processes. Currently, there are virtually no reliable criteria for optimizing the composition and structure of the coating, in particular, obtained by high-energy exposure, and predicting its performance under friction. In this regard, the establishment of theoretical and technological bases for the formation of the projected structure and properties of the responsible parts of construction machinery under high energy impact to increase their wear resistance and durability is an important and urgent problem. Complex researches on increase of durability of responsible details of a hydrohammer which main reasons of premature failure are: mechanical and thermal damages, unqualified surfacing or sharpening, corrosion, wear are carried out. The study of the experience of using high-energy energy sources, as well as new compositions of coatings for work surfaces indicates the feasibility of their use to increase the service life of hydraulic breakers. To solve this problem, ion-plasma chromium plating is used, a technique is developed, the processes of structure formation and formation of operational properties are investigated.
