There have been investigated peculiarities of German Ukrainian interlingual contacts in Transcarpathia; semantic peculiarities of verb inseparable prefixes of Middle Bavarian dialect of Transcarpathia; functioning of onomastic systems in Transcarpathian multicultural area; onomatopoetic vocabulary in the German literary and conversational language; lexical semantic and linguopragmatic peculiarities of German Christian theological terminological system; linguistic peculiarities of the language of ecology in German; the main aspects of teaching German as a first and second foreign language; formation of the communication competence in the process of studying a foreign language; the role of an authentic text as a reflection of the culture of a different people and the use of this text in the formation of cross-cultural communication in the process of studying a foreign language. We have compiled a dictionary of German borrowings in Ukrainian dialects of Transcarpathia and Ukrainian-German dictionary of ecological terms. New methods of teaching German as a first and second language have been implemented into the learning process of Uzhhorod National University and comprehensive secondary schools of the city of Uzhhorod and Transcarpathian region.
