A significant diversity of fruits at the level of families was revealed. There are clear differences at the family level in patterns of protection of fruits against adverse factors. It has been found that the families Caprifoliaceae s.str., Dipsacaceae and Valerianaceae are diagnosed by a complex of morphological features of the flower, pollen grains and fruits, which does not confirm the feasibility of combining them in one family Caprifoliaceae s.l. according to molecular and phylogenetic data. The family Adoxaceae s.l. (including Sambucaceae and Viburnaceae) is characterized by a complex of palynomorphological characters different from those in the family Caprifoliaceae s.l., which is consistent with molecular phylogenetic data. Results of paleofloristic research of Upper Pleistocene–Holocene sediments of the plain part of Ukraine are generalized. It is revealed that the fossil palynofloras of Allered–Holocene deposits (in which pollen identified to the species level is considerable) are most representative ones. The first in Ukraine reconstructions of spatiotemporal differentiation patterns of distribution of 21 model taxa of orders Dipsacales and Lamiales in the plain part of Ukraine during the Allered–Holocene is the factual paleobotanical material that forms the scientific basis for developing scenarios of possible environmental changes in the future and for conservation of plant species, especially rare, relict and vulnerable ones.
