The research covered issues of formation and identification of historical memory in the context of constructing monumental-memorial areas in cityscape, of regional and national identity, of Ukrainian-Polish relations. Various controversial issues of historical memory and politics of history in modern Ukraine were analyzed, particularly manipulative technologies on key issues of Ukrainian history, controversial figures, decommunization. Novelty of research results: - a comprehensive analysis of the monumental-memorial place of the city of Donetsk in the context of the formation of a specific regional identity; - the specifics of memoir sources on Medieval history of Donbas (Northern Pryazovia) were revealed, their informational potential was demonstrated; - the relations between Ukraine and Poland at different stages of history, specifically in early XXI century in the context of European integration processes were thoroughly analyzed; - the historical figure of Stepan Bandera was researched in the context of how his image is depicted in school textbooks and mass media. The research results are represented by a monograph, research articles, including those in professional scientific publications, theses and reports at national and international conferences, as well as students' research works.
