Varieties that need special attention during mass propagation due to the high level of virus infection have been identified. The level of distribution in plantations of 6 viruses, 3 viroids, phytoplasmas was analyzed. The method of detection and identification of Phytophthora species has been optimized. A method of micropropagation was developed for 3 types of apple rootstocks 54-118, M.9 and MM.106 and 3 types of pear rootstocks IS 2-10, IS 4-16 and VA-29. In the course of the work the main stages of cultivation of seed rootstocks in vitro were optimized, the influence of biologically active substances (different types of cytokinins, auxins and gibberellins) on the processes of regeneration, proliferation and rhizogenesis was studied. A collection of virus-free types of rootstock in isolated conditions has been created. The effectiveness of the use of several substances with antiviral nature and thermotherapy for Apple stem grooving virus elimination in vitro has been studied. The allelic state of the MdMYB1 gene in 37 apple genotypes was evaluated. Eight apple varieties were evaluated for scab and powdery mildew resistance genes, as well as the MdACS1 gene associated with ethylene synthesis. Twelve varieties of Rvi6 gene donors, seven varieties of Rvi4 gene donors and 24 varieties of Rvi2 gene donor were identified. Economically valuable genotypes with digenic and trigenic resistance to the pathogen of apple scab were selected. The absence of powdery mildew resistance associated with the Pl-1 gene was detected.
