The process of corrosion phase formation on the surface of carbon and stainless steel samples during their contact with the aqueous medium (pH = 9-12 and T = 50-70 °C Εh = +300 mV) and bentonite clay (рН = 7,4-8,2 та Т = 40 °С, Εh = +320 mV) was carried out experimentally under conditions close to the initial and transitional stages of evolution of deep geological repository. A scheme for the synthesis of a new composite sorbent for the selective extraction of Cs ions from contaminated water by in situ deposition of a layer of potassium-copper ferrocyanide on the surface of granules of natural and chemically modified clinoptilolite tuff of the Sokyrnytske deposit was developed and implemented. The sorption of Cs ions from model solutions with a high content of sodium and potassium ions was studied; in the presence of deactivating means "Shield"; depending on the pH of the solution. It is shown that composite samples based on modified clinoptilolite tuff have high selectivity for Cs ions and the best adsorption parameters when sorbed from multicomponent solutions with high salt content.
