The simultaneously doped with s- and p-elements alloy (Tb2Ni15.2Li0.6Mg0.6Sb0.6) shows a large amount of hydrogen and high corrosion stability in electrolyte at discharging. The electrochemical properties of electrodes based on phases from homogeneity range of solid solution Tb2Ni17-xCox (0 ≤ x ≤ 17) were investigated. It was established that doping with Sb and Ni appreciably improves electrochemical characteristics of electrodes based on La2Mg17-xMx (M = Sn, Sb, Ni) solid solutions. Doping of TbCo5 with Li, Mg, Al, Si and Sb results in the improvement of hydrogen absorption characteristics. Solid solutions based on GdFe2 and GdMn2 binary phases were synthesized by electrochemical hydrogenation method for the first time. The investigated solid solutions based on the LaSn3 binary phase show considerable promise from the structure and properties point of view as potential materials in Li-ion batteries. From the results of electrochemical lithiation of a number of aluminides it was established that the type of the formed solid solution depends on the structure peculiarity of a compound matrix, that is, on the presence of available voids for Li atoms inclusion in it and their dimensions. High-quality results for assessment of crystal and electronic structure and physical properties anisotropy of RNiC2 compounds were obtained for the first time.
