Ya. The aim of the work: to search for new methods of controlling the electromagnetic spectrum of planar photonic crystals (including topological ones). The substrate of such structures is modified by multiperiodic inhomogeneities, magnetic nanostructures, and conducting structures of complex geometry. For the structure of a planar double periodic photonic crystal, it was experimentally demonstrated that in the frequency range of the transmission spectrum a family of narrow transmission peaks arises. For the case of a planar double periodic photonic crystal with the presence of periodic inhomogeneities in the substrate, it was shown numerically that a family of narrow peaks of transmittance in the frequency range can appear, where the band gap overlaps for the periodically inhomogeneous substrate and planar photonic crystal. The possibility of adjusting the position of the transmission peaks is demonstrated by changing the permittivity and the length of individual elements in the structured substrate. By numerical modeling for a planar metamaterial that consisted of a chain of two gyrotropic photonic crystals with topologically protected states it is established a localized peak of the surface state in the band gap of the microwave spectrum. The peak frequency corresponds to the concentration of the electromagnetic field at the boundary of the two topological insulators. The numerous experiments on the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with arrays of magnetic nanostructures with complex shape are conducted. The aim is to establish the nature and strength of the influence presented as "deformation" of the disk magnetic element on it's electromagnetic response in case of ferromagnetic resonance in the microwave range.
