The purpose of research work is to generalize the methods of pre-processing of digital images and reveal the features of their application in determining the homogeneous texture of structural elements for each input image. The analysis of various methods and approaches used in image pre-processing algorithms is carried out. The peculiarities of application and disadvantages of each of the methods of image pre-processing, which were considered, are determined. The essential understanding of the definition of the concept of digital image texture is revealed. The analysis of features of structural elements of digital images of different textures is carried out. The formalization of the definition of homogeneous in texture structural elements of the image is generalized. The main results of the work are the disclosure of the peculiarities of the application of image pre-processing methods with homogeneous structural elements, which is the basis of the procedure of pre-processing of such images; formalized generalization of the definition of homogeneous structural elements of the image in accordance with their textural features, which is the basis of the method of generalization of the properties of the corresponding images.
