The aim of the research is to assess the prospects for the participation of economic entities of the border regions of Ukraine in global value chains and to develop practical recommendations for improving their investment attractiveness. The object of research is the integration of economic entities of the border regions of Ukraine into global value chains. The subject of the research is theoretical and applied issues of the prospects of participation of economic entities of the border regions of Ukraine in global value chains. Theoretical and methodological frameworks of global value chains research under intensification of integration processes are expanded. The common organizational forms of development of international production cooperation have been examined. A methodical approach to assessing the competitive advantages of border regions of Ukraine in the context of assessing the prospects of their integration into global value chains has been developed. The integrated index of competitive advantages of these regions has been calculated. The guidelines for extension of the innovative activity of small and medium enterprises of textile industry of border regions of Ukraine based on expert survey results of the apparel enterprises have been substantiated. Perspective directions of cross-border clusters development and the establishment of cross-border cluster collaborations with the participation of Western border regions of Ukraine have been suggested. The propositions to extend opportunities for industrial parks development in the border regions of Ukraine have been developed.
