Purpose-to enrich the genetic diversity of corn and sunflower by introducing new accessions, building up trait, working, and special collections of corn and sunflower and identifying the most valuable forms for further use them in breeding as sources and donors of valuable economic traits. Methods-general scientific: analysis, synthesis, special field-phenological observations, measurement of morphometric parameters of plants during the growing period; laboratory: determination of levels of qualitative and quantitative indicators; mathematical and statistical: dispersion, correlation, regression, and cluster analyses. Results. A corn collection comprising 6,691 specimens and a sunflower collection comprising 696 specimens were built up. 98.8% of corn specimens and 99.8% of sunflower specimens were certified. Forty-six corn lines have been created, which are sources of drought resistance and fast grain drying. In 2019-2020, 15 corn lines were registered with the National Center for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine; of them five lines (LNAU18, UP27, UP453, F507, and Kharkivska 667) are sources of high performance, large kernels, high 1000-kernel weight, intensive accumulation of dry matter in grain, ‘multi-cob plant’ trait with high donor capacities on these traits; five lines (UKhK590, ZPLB341, UKhK434, UKhK542, and UKhK586) were differentiated by identification features of various expression levels in order to create morphologically original hybrids; five lines (KL-wx3, KL-wx6, KL-wx7, KL-wx8, and KL-wx9) combine high oil content in grain and increased oleic acid in oil and are sources of the ‘long cob’ trait, large number of kernels per cob, resistance to diseases and pests. Two sunflower varieties (Luks and Universal) are sources in edible sunflower breeding. In 2020, a special collection of corn by distinctiveness traits and a collection of edible sunflower were submitted for registration Product Description popup.authors Bibel Yuliia O.
