The paper analyzes the dependence of the viscosity and electrical conductivity of melts of slag-forming mixtures on their chemical composition and temperature, experimental measurements of viscosity, electrical conductivity and melting temperatures of slag-forming mixtures. Improved predictive models for calculating the viscosity and enthalpy of the final blast furnace slag in the temperature range of 1300-1550 ºС for their rapid assessment in the modern conditions of blast furnaces in Ukraine. It is shown that the activation energies of viscosity (Еη) and electrical conductivity (Еχ) of slag melts decrease with increasing temperatures, and the ratio Еη / Еχ = n changes in the regions: Еη <Еχ = n <1, Еη> Еχ = n> 1 and Еη≈ Еχ = n≈1, characterizing the change in the relationship of structural particles of the melt, and therefore its structure, and can be a criterion for assessing the structure of slag melts. The value of basicity of blast-furnace slags CaO / SiO2 = 1.2 is recommended, this provides a decrease in energy costs for the formation of slag and heat losses with the slag melt during its discharge from the furnace. For the CaO-Al2O3-CaF2 system, according to the calculations of the activation energy, the rational content of the components CaO = 40-50%, Al2O3 = 35-45%, CaF2 5-20% was established, which ensures the homogeneity of their melts at temperatures above 1600 °C. For the ESR process, a rational slag composition is recommended: 31% -CaF2; 31% -Al2O3; 31% -CaO with a SiO2 content of 2.5 ÷ 4% wt., and MgO - 3% wt. which, unlike others, has a long temperature range of 1240-1500 °C with optimal values of viscosity (0.02-0.09 Pa ∙ s) and electrical conductivity (100-240 1 / (Ω ∙ m)).
