Tairov Institute of Viticulture and Wine-making" popup.description2 In today's globalized world, the place and role of viticulture and winemaking in Ukraine depends on its ability to effectively realize its objective advantages of natural resource potential in the global division of labor and international competition, ensuring participation in solving global food, energy and environmental problems based on mutually beneficial economic relations. Modern selection and natural genetic diversity in relation to stress factors allows to develop successful strategies for selection and reproduction of the most adapted to specific conditions of cultivation of varieties and clones of grapes. The main criteria for the selection of varieties, promising forms and clones - genetically determined indicators of resistance to abiotic and biotic environmental factors, stable productivity, high quality products, traditions of the region and others. For technical varieties it is high yield, optimal maturity, exclusive aromatic and taste qualities of wine. For table varieties it is elegance, large-fruitiness, large-berry, seedlessness, etc. That is, the variety that can survive the environmental impact can be grown at minimal cost and meet market requirements. Therefore, the aim of the project is to determine the state of distribution of new selection varieties in Ukraine. In accordance with this goal, in 2020 it is necessary to develop recommendations on the optimal varietal composition of vineyards of all vineyards in Ukraine.
