The main directions of scientific research were aimed at determination of the characteristic features of the development of the tourist and recreational industry in Zaporizhzhia region; the substantiation of the peculiarities of organization of tourist and excursion activities, urgent problems and prospects for the development of tourist and excursion services in the Zaporizhzhia region; the identification of the structure and peculiarities of the use of the nature reserve fund of the Zaporizhzhia region in tourism; the analysis of the current state of the social infrastructure of the rural area of the Zaporizhzhia region and its impact on the development of rural tourism; the consideration of the specifics of using the objects of intangible cultural heritage for the development of cultural tourism in the region covered by the study; the determination of the modern structure of the sound landscape of Melitopol as a component of the recreational potential and the prospects for its improvement; the consideration of modern aspects of the development of tourist local history in the Zaporizhzhia region.
