In the study of various methods for evaluating the original breeding material of long flax resistance to lodging resistance, it was found that at the beginning of the growing season with a decrease in light by 50-60% in resistant and medium-resistant varieties increases the length of the first internode and subcotyledon with unstable varieties. The resistance of flax plants to lodging in the flowering phase depends on the mass of the root system, the hypocotyl and the number of leaves on the stem. In the phase of yellow ripeness it is established that with the decrease of the angle of deviation of the branches in the inflorescence and the increase of the diameter of the stem near the root neck, the resistance of the varieties to lodging increases. Studies of the cytohistological structure of the cross-section of the subcotyledonary knee of the stems of flax plants by scanning microscopy have shown that more resistant to lodging varieties are characterized by greater cell wall thickness and retain the shape of cells than unstable varieties. Positive connections have been established: between fiber flexibility and stem stiffness, fiber splitting; between fiber strength and convergence, specific convergence, fiber content; splitting of the fiber with softness. The chemical composition of seeds of collection samples and selection numbers of long flax was analyzed. The oil content and its fatty acid composition in the collection numbers of flax and selection hybrids were determined. Seeds were processed and the effect of different doses of gamma rays in the field on long flax varieties was studied.
