The purpose of the work is to form a normative and technical base for the development of innovative flax and hemp-containing products and to harmonize the requirements for bast fibers and products with international and regional standards. Research methods - theoretical, analytical. One of the factors to increase the efficiency of flax and hemp production is the introduction of regulations harmonized with international and European standards on the products produced by the industries. Analysis of the study of the European market of flax and hemp production revealed the main producers of products and areas of its use, as well as requirements for its quality. Based on the results of the analysis of modern areas of flax and hemp use in developed countries and the study of international and European regulations, a new and promising area of ​​use of hemp raw materials - for medical purposes - has been identified. A search in various sources and selection of information on regulations on the subject of the study. It has been found that the use of cannabis-based medicines is regulated in many countries around the world, such as Canada, the United States, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Croatia, etc. About 80 normative documents and legislative acts regulating the cultivation of industrial hemp in different countries of the world have been identified. Their analysis and partial translation were performed. The requirements of normative documents in the field of flax and hemp production are systematized and a directory of normative and technical documents in flax and hemp production is concluded.
