The object of research is the effect of the striking element on multilayer armored materials with different structures and parameters that are used in personal protective equipment for military personnel and in the protection of lightly armored vehicles. The purpose of the work is - development of a mathematical model of changes in the stress-strain state of multilayer armored structures under the influence of a strike of a striking element; conducting studies of the armor resistance of multilayer armored structures; development of a method for the selection of armor protection personnel and military equipment of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) for the indicator of armor resistance/cost. Methods of research - theory of energy absorption of the collision of a striking element with multilayer armored structures, elements of the theory of experimental design, numerical methods of external ballistics, the basics of error theory. The result of the work is: methodology for testing the armor resistance of multilayer armored structures using different types of small arms; experimental studies of the armor resistance of multilayer armored structures; a method for solving qualimetric problems for the development of information-analytical technology for determining the quality of products and its selection. The use of research results is expected in the military units of the NGU, research institutions during the experimental studies of the armor resistance of elements for use in personal protective equipment of military personnel and means of protection of lightly armored vehicles, as well as in the National Academy of the NGU in preparation specialists who are involved in the development and operation of armor protection personnel and military equipment.
