At the population-species level, physiological, adaptive mechanisms, ethological reactions of the mobile components of biota are fulfilled. It is shown that tropho-energy connections in ecosystems are regulated by primary production, organic matter destruction and their ratio. At the ecosystem level, the high biological diversity, a wide range of structural and functional characteristics of biota of reservoirs provide a large number of possible responses (reactions) to environmental factors, as evidenced by the lack of significant changes in reservoir water quality in many years, the ability of their ecosystems to maintain internal dynamic equilibrium.
