Based on the generalization and systematization of the relevant theoretical and methodological provisions, the actual norms of operating labour, money-material and energy expenditures for the production of grain crops for different compositions of machine-tractor units are calculated. Alternative variants of the technologies for growing basic grain crops are developed. The package of optimal production costs in grain farming of the Steppe zone of Ukraine and the resource provision of effective development of the sector for the forecast levels of grain production are grounded. The most effective variants of advanced production technologies are determined; the recommendations for the use of innovative technologies for growing grain crops and perspective agricultural methods are formulated. The parameters of high-quality grain production in the Steppe of Ukraine and the level of its efficiency for the future are substantiated.
