Single-crystal growth techniques and methods of polishing and housing of organic scintillators were tested. The maximum light transmission in crystals was observed along the crystallographic axis b. It is shown that oriented crystals demonstrate 8-10% higher light output under alpha-irradiation and 9-12% higher output when registering electrons of internal conversion. Computer simulation of light transmission has been performed, and the light collection coefficient along the b-axis is estimated to be 10% higher than that along the a-axis.
