The influence of the nature and method of dopant introduction on the physicochemical characteristics and catalytic properties of Mg-Al-M oxide and Ca-M-phosphate catalysts in the condensation processes of ethanol and butanol has been studied. The effect of the composition and preparation method of modified ZnO(Cu, Ag)/MgO(ZrO2)-SiO2 systems on their catalytic properties in the conversion of ethanol-aqueous mixtures into 1,3-butadiene was established. It was found that the regulation of acid-base characteristics of the surface by partial substitution of calcium for magnesium in Mg-HAP hydroxyapatite catalyst provides an increase in selectivity of the formation of industrially important product 2-ethyl-1-hexanol up to 62% during Guerbet condensation of C2,4-alcohols. It is shown that the localization of zirconium component as isolated Zr(IV) into T-vacancies of the matrix of dealuminated zeolite BEA in the composition of ZnLaZr-SiBEA systems is an important factor that determines their activity in the process of obtaining 1,3-butadiene from ethanol-aqueous mixtures.
