Workers of the mining industry are most at risk when exposed to dust containing silica (surface and underground mining of stone, ore, minerals, coal - among miners and other workers in coal mines); construction industry (due to cutting, drilling, blasting); foundry production (sandblasting, chopping, knocking, refractory workers), when using sandblasting for metal cleaning, performing electric welding and grinding. Also, agriculture and forestry workers are at risk of contracting tuberculosis. The peculiarities of the incidence of occupational tuberculosis are found in workers at risk of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the workplace - employees of medical and clinical laboratories of tuberculosis institutions, specialized psychiatric institutions, workers of other institutions of the health care system, institutions for forensic medical examination and pathological anatomical centers (doctor; nurse; junior nurse; - auxiliary staff of the health care system), as well as employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The average age of workers for development of occupational tuberculosis is 41 years, the average length of service - 13.0 years According to the clinical classification, the most common are: tuberculosis diagnosed for the first time; residual changes after transferred TB; multidrug-resistant tuberculosis; recurrent TB. The primary type of the tuberculosis complex, disseminated pulmonary tuberculosis, focal pulmonary tuberculosis, infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis, fibro-cavernous pulmonary tuberculosis and pulmonary tuberculosis combined with occupational dust lung diseases (coniotuberculosis) are most often diagnosed by clinical types.
