Information × Registration Number 0221U103813, 0118U000056 , R & D reports Title Transformation of the culture of memory of modern Ukrainian society popup.stage_title Head Kuznietsova Inna V, Registration Date 25-02-2021 Organization Institute of Cultural Studies of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine popup.description2 For the first time using interdisciplinary approaches and considering cultural aspects: the official acts of memory policy introduced by state institutions (president, parliament, government, local councils and authorities) that form an idea of Ukraine's past, influencing the perception of historical and cultural heritage were studied; the interaction of social groups manifested in the implementation of the memory policy, in particular, decommunization laws, and the public reception of decisions based on a broad source base was analyzed; the main challenges related to the functioning and transformation of cultural and historical memory were identified and described; the historical experience of different generations living in different regions of Ukraine was determined to create contradictions and conflicts in the perception of the past; the need to include the following parameters in the analysis of the transformation of memory culture was proved: 1) analysis of the goals, authority and political tools of state institutions; 2) discourse analysis of official acts of memory policy issued by these institutions; 3) analysis of the interaction of various social groups in the processes of formation and implementation of memory policy measures; the study conceptually substantiated that the perception of socially established collective ideas about historical events as part of symbolic asset presupposes the interpretation of the memory policy as a kind of redistributive policy; the ‘Conceptual model of the memory culture of Ukraine’ was developed, which shows the interrelationships between the concepts and allows to comprehend on a broad theoretical and empirical material phenomena being simultaneously heterogeneous and interconnected. The findings of the study may be applicable in legislative, academic, cultural and educational activities, and the educational process.
