Computer simulation of external flow around cylindrical and conical chimneys has been carried out and recommendations for their calculation have been developed. The efficiency by using of three proposed methods for preventing condensation formation in gas exhaust ducts has been investigated to improve the environmental efficiency and operational reliability of the chimneys of boiler plants equipped with systems for deep heat recovery of exhaust gases. The use of these methods makes it possible to improve (up to 32%) indicators of their environmental efficiency when using heat recovery technologies that reduce fuel consumption in boiler plants by 5-10%. A method of environmental pollution localizing the source based on monitoring data in the polar coordinate system is proposed. Optimization mathematical models for determining the main characteristics of this source have been obtained. A modification of the classical Newton's method is developed for finding a numerical solution to the constructed mathematical models for identifying the parameters of the pollutant. The approbation of the method of pollution localization the source according to the monitoring of air pollution was carried out. The proposed method makes it possible to reduce by 3 times the number of simulation iterations to find the source of pollution in comparison with classical methods. The state of atmospheric air pollution for Kiev in the period from 2017 to 2019 was investigated. It is shown that the existing air pollution monitoring system does not meet the modern requirements for speed and the level of information content of the population of urbanized areas.
