The purpose of work is mastering of improved production technology of chamotte castable and production organization of a new type product. The research methods are physicochemical, petrographic and thermo-mechanical ones. During the production of pilot batch of chamotte castable of “SShBD” brand with additives "A" and "B" and products from it in the form of burner stones, the improved production technology of chamotte castable was mastered. The production of new type product – chamotte castable of “SShBD” brand of advanced composition – was organized. The chamotte castable of “SShBD” brand meets the requirements of technical conditions in terms of properties. The research on improvement of the production technology of low-cement chamotte castable of “SSSHNTSB” brand was carried out. The influence of aggregate type, its grain composition, alumina and quartz-containing additives, cement amount on water consumption, flowing of freshly made castable mass and properties of castable samples after heat treatment at temperatures of 110, 800 and 1400 ºС were studied. It was established that, the partial replacement of chamotte in the castable with brown corundum, the introduction of alumina and quartz-containing additives, increasing the high alumina cement amount reduces water consumption and increases the flowing of castable mass, increases the strength of castable samples before and after heat treatment. In JSC “The URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy” the pilot batches of corundum, mullite-corundum, corundum carbide-silicon, traditional and low-cement chamotte castables, products from chamotte castable, mullite-corundum ramming mix, mullite-corundum and mullite mortars were made.
