The results of the analysis of the current state of the provision of green spaces for residents of a large city (on the example of the city of Kiev) are presented. The nature of the attitude of city residents to the existing system of green spaces, the main preferences regarding visiting parks and squares has been investigated; relation to the proposed list of criteria for assessing the quality of elements of the green planting system. A method for determining the indicator of urban planning attractiveness of elements of green spaces is proposed.
