Methodical approaches to identification and documentation of soil standards and representative samples of unique soils are determined. Based on the cartographic analysis, a working version of the red-listed soil protection areas of the Carpathian region has been compiled. The data of researches of model rare species of birds, in particular of the Carpathian population of a stork of a black Ciconia nigra and group of waders, in the conditions of intensive management and fragmentation of forests are generalized. The assessment of environmental aspects of anthropogenic fragmentation in the studied protected areas of the Carpathian region is carried out.
