The object of the research is the documents of the servicemen killed in the ranks of the Red Army, natives of Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv regions during the Second World War. The subject of the research is a documentary array transferred by the military enlistment offices of Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv regions regarding the losses on the fronts of the Second World War. Research methods are analytical, statistical, problem-chronological, comparative-historical, retrospective and content-analytical. The array of documents collected in 2007–2019 from the military enlistment offices of Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv regions was analyzed. These documents are the part of the only in the post-Soviet space of a unique source of information about the human military losses of Ukraine on the fronts of Second World War in the Red Army – the death notifications, the lists of killed and missing, the correspondence to search for the dead, etc. The main results of the study are implemented in scientific articles and the creation of the All-Ukrainian electronic database of victims and the gradual presentation of personal information and scans of documents in the public Internet on the site – https://martyrology.org.ua.
