The influence of modifying additives (Fe2O3, CeO2, ZrO2, Mn3O4) in the composition of the ACZ catalyst on the indicators of NOx reduction and residual ammonia conversion were studied. It was found that the presence of a certain amount of NH3*H2O in the solution of copper and zinc nitrates for impregnation of carrier A-1 provides the formation on the surface of the granules of the catalytic coating of the crust structure with the maximum concentration of copper in the surface layer most accessible for selective reduction of nitrogen oxides. The best results are achieved when the content of 0.6% NH3 (in the form of NH3*H2O) in the solution for impregnation. The results of comparative studies indicate that the proposed method of preparation of the catalyst ACZ crust structure ACZ-CS) provides higher performance (activity and selectivity), which reduces the temperature of the SCR process and reduce ammonia consumption. The research results were used to develop design documentation for the manufacture of a pilot plant for testing the developed catalysts in industrial conditions of nitric acid production and preparation of an experimental batch of aluminumzinc catalyst crust structure ACZ-CS.
