The aim of the project is to create stress-resistant, productive genotypes of bioenergetic grass and tree crops (Silphium and Populus) for the development of alternative sources of biofuel raw materials. The object of research is the process of creating new genotypes of bioenergetic grass and tree crops (Silphium, Paulownia and Populus). The subject of research is the genotypes of poplar and sylph, moisture conditions, salinization and energy productivity of plants. General scientific and special research methods were used in the research. New stress-resistant genotypes of bioenergetic grass and wood crops as biofuel raw materials have been selected. A comprehensive assessment of the biological-ecological, adaptive, yield, biochemical and productive potential of derived forms, hybrids and varieties of sylphia plants (over 20). The available gene pool of sylphium plants has been expanded (up to 35). The level of drought resistance of poplar plants was determined. The accumulation of proline in fast-growing trees under different moisture conditions was studied. The possibilities of improving the quality of wood biomass pellets have been assessed.
