International standards in the field of customs are analyzed and the main trends in the development of approaches to customs control and clearance are identified. Proposals have been made to improve customs control procedures in Ukraine, taking into account the requirements of international standards. The main principles and directions of development of activity of special divisions of customs bodies providing realization of customs control and registration in Ukraine are outlined. Measures to improve customs taxation of foreign economic activity and administration of customs payments in Ukraine as one of the key levers of state influence on the development of the country's economy are proposed. There are proposals to increase the efficiency of the organization and conduct of customs post-audit in Ukraine, which will provide an opportunity to focus on the most risky transactions, to achieve simplification and acceleration of customs clearance for honest subjects of foreign economic activity. The implementation of research results in the practical activities of the State Customs Service of Ukraine will help bring the procedures for customs control and clearance, the system of administration of customs payments to international standards and sustainable foreign experience.
