Lazaryan popup.description2  The work is devoted to bringing in line the technical equipment of railway transport of the access roads of the mining and processing industry and the volume of traffic in order to reduce the risks associated with effective investment in the development of railway transport. The object of the research is the process of transportation of finished products to the external network and internal transportation of raw materials by rail at a mining and processing plant. The subject of the research is the analysis of risks arising under conditions of fluctuations in size and changes in the logistics of transportation when setting roasting machines for the production of iron ore pellets for overhaul. It was found that the presence of a significant number of operators of the car fleet on the rail transport market led to a shortage of track capacity due to the need for additional sorting of cars. The monthly irregularity in the shipment of finished products of the GOK depends on the schedule of major overhauls of the main equipment and can reach an increase in relation to average values ​​up to 23%, which requires appropriate planning for the attraction of the car fleet. Fluctuations in traffic volumes cause fluctuations in the working fleet of locomotives up to 25% of the working fleet in the period with their minimum demand. The emergence of additional risk factors associated with the use of wagons for domestic transportation in certain periods of the year has been established.
