The purpose of the work is to improve the method of determining the adhesion between the asphalt concrete layers of pavement in shear and the device for its determination. Research methods - theoretical, experimental. The analysis of methods, existing devices and equipment concerning determination of stability of coupling between asphalt concrete layers at shift in a pavement design is carried out. According to the results of the research, taking into account climatic conditions and load parameters from modern vehicles, the substantiation of the parameters of the updated method of determining the adhesion between the asphalt concrete layers during shear. Design documentation for the manufacture of an experimental sample of the device has been developed. The program and a technique of primary and periodic certification of the device are developed. The novelty of the work is to take into account the phenomenon of thixotropy at the contact between the asphalt layers, which can occur due to vibration from the movement of vehicles. Also, taking into account the load of asphalt concrete layers by modern vehicles, the method of determining the adhesion between asphalt concrete layers by applying pulsating loads on the core type of vertical and horizontal forces has been improved. The results of the work are recommended to be used for quality control during the construction and operation of asphalt concrete layers of pavement. Scope - construction and operation of public roads. Socio-economic efficiency of the work is to increase the durability of roads, which will reduce operating costs, increase track stability and road safety. Based on the results of the research, it is proposed to monitor the quality of adhesion between asphalt concrete layers during construction and operation in different regions of Ukraine on highways of different categories.
