Scientific research on this topic was conducted in view of the need to study the judgments of national courts and the case law of the ECtHR on the admissibility and recognition of testimony from others, as well as in the analysis of investigative practice of investigators of the National Police of Ukraine testimony. General scientific and special methods of cognition were used for direct collection and processing of the necessary information, which ensured obtaining scientifically substantiated conclusions and proposals. In particular, such private-scientific methods as: observation; modeling and abstraction; logical-semantic, comparative-legal, system-structural methods. The results of the study are aimed at improving the criminal procedure legislation and law enforcement practice on the recognition of testimony from other people's words as evidence in criminal proceedings.
