Have been shown that 25-propyloxy-26,27-dibenzoyloxy-calix[4]arenes is a convenient precursor for the synthesis of inherently chiral derivatives. Convenient methods of regioselective functionalization of para-positions of the upper crown of the macrocycle of this compound have been developed. Diastereomeric derivatives of inherently chiral calix[4]arenes were synthesized and their separation into optically pure forms was performed. The structure of the obtained compounds was studied by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis and the absolute stereochemical configuration was determined.
