Keywords: Insects, Hymenoptera, faunogenesis, biodiversity, forest ecosystems, amber, Polissia, Carpathians Objects of study: model groups of hymenopterans (Ichneumonidae, Chysididae, Formicidae, Encyrtidae, Eulophidae, Crabronidae) The goal of the project: to work out a holistic concept of the biodiversity growth, development, loss and restoration patterns in the past and the present forest and forest-like ecosystems, using Hymenoptera as a model group. We also aim to demonstrate the value of Rivne amber as the priceless source of information about the biodiversity of the past and, at the same time, as the threat to modern biodiversity due to uncontrolled mining. Methods: field research on the Carpathians and Polissia territories, laboratory experiments and cameral data processing. Main results and their novelty: materials collected during the field expeditions to the study localities of Polissia in 2021 are preliminary sorted and examined; it is established that communities of disturbed and natural habitats are similar in numerosity, but largely differ in taxonomic composition of some groups; behavioral and nesting features of the Red databook of Ukraine digger wasp species, Cerceris tuberculata (Villers, 1787), are studied; based on sting morphological similarity of two digger wasp species from different tribes we assumed that their sting doesn’t act in prey killing or paralysis; data on the sting morphology of digger wasps, Mellinus arvensis (Linnaeus, 1758) and Pemphredon lugubris (Fabricius, 1793), are clarified and expanded; new recent and fossil Ichneumonidae and Formicidae taxa are described; taxonomic position of the genus Drymomyrmex Wheeler, 1915 is established; data on the distribution of fossil genus Sulia Simutnik, 2015 is expanded. The results of project implementation were published in six research papers. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2021-12-18 Close
