Displacement of the magnetic field from the near-axis part of the flux at a distance of 8.5 cm from the cathode during the 10 μs discharge was revealed both in the case with the external magnetic field and without the field in the channel. This result probably indicates that the external longitudinal magnetic field has weak influence on the spatial location of the compression zone. In general, the magnitude of the intrinsic magnetic field increases throughout the plasma flow in the presence of an external magnetic field in the accelerating channel. The topograms of the outlet currents were constructed and investigated, which made it possible to reveal and study the influence of the external magnetic field on the plasma flux structure and its dynamics. It was found that the presence of an external magnetic field leads to a changing radial distribution of the intrinsic magnetic field, the share of outlet currents relative to the total discharge current increases, and the closed configurations of toroidal current vortices arising in the flow outside the channel occupy a larger volume in space. , their number increases, and the duration of their existence increases at later stages of the discharge.
