The creation of lexicographical works, accompanied with a study of the structure and semantics of the lexical and phraseological units presented in them, opens new opportunities for contrastive studies in terms of interlingual comparison of the phenomena, and provides rich material for typological generalizations. The relevance of the project is determined by the need to monitor the dynamics of English borrowings in language practice, analyze their phonetic, morphological, grammatical, spelling and lexical-semantic features. There is also demand of spelling recommendations for the language units which are being adapted by the Ukrainian literary language. The research is both practical (as the results can be used in the field of language planning and language policy), and theoretical (it could help to explore the issues of sociolinguistics, linguosemiotics, linguopragmatics, text linguistics and discourse theory). The aim of the project is to conduct the lexicological research and make a lexicographic product of the latest English borrowings which belong to the language practice of contemporary Ukrainian society.
