It is established that the circulation of avulavirus of the first serotype (Newcastle disease virus) continues among poultry in different countries. The situation regarding West Nile fever in the world remains difficult and ambiguous. The increasing of number of cases of this disease among humans in Europe, as well as the emergence of new vectors of this virus (some species of mosquitoes) is a cause for concern. In Ukraine, the situation regarding the circulation of West Nile virus among animals and birds remains unknown. To date, coronaviruses have found in wild birds which are belonging to 15 species and 108 species. So far, no such studies have been conducted in Ukraine. In 2021, samples of biological material from wild birds were taken during the spring and autumn migration of the season in three regions (Kharkiv, Poltava, Kherson). A total of 137 samples of biological material from 23 bird species belonging to 12 families were collected. The analysis of simultaneous circulation of avian avulaviruses and influenza viruses in wild birds according to the results of previous virological examinations was carried out. Thus, for the period 2010-2021, 6 cases of simultaneous circulation of those viruses were confirmed. For the purpose of whole genome sequencing of avulaviruses circulating among wild birds in Ukraine, 45 archival isolates were prepared. We restored their biological properties and viruses’ authenticity was verified by serological methods. There was no extraneous contamination by viruses, bacteria, and mycetes.
