The aim of the work is to conduct the conceptual studies of the foreign literature in the system of humanitarian knowledge, to define the dynamics of its connections with other kinds of art and to clear out the main tendencies in its interpretation in various forms of art. The methods of investigation are – the genetic-historical, comparative, semiotic, receptive, imagological, socio-cultural, intertextual, intermedial. The scientific novelty of the research and the value of its results are in the elaboration of modern principles of verbal art study in the context of its connections with other spheres of scientific knowledge – philosophy, sociology, religion, and in the connection with various forms of its embodiment – visual and audiovisual. The own models of the classic and modern literature analysis in the process of their intermedial presentation are proposed. Such courses as “English-language Literature of the XXI c.”, “Functioning of the Cultural Idiom in Literature”, “The Problems of Intermediality in Foreign Literature”, “Interpretation as a Theoretical Concept and Literary Practice”, “The Typology of Reader and the Problem of Artistic Text Perception”. The results of the scientific work are introduced into the studying process while teaching the history of foreign literature. Preparing diploma works and dissertations while elaborating special courses based on the knowledge from other humanitarian sciences. The sphere of application: investigations and experimental elaborations in the sphere of social and humanitarian sciences.
