The mechanisms and forms of actualization of national memory as a kind of collective memory are studied. A comprehensive socio-philosophical study was conducted, which is focused on the study of the phenomenon of national memory with the involvement of theoretical approaches to history, cultural anthropology, historiography, sociology, political science, religious studies, etc. Scientific research allowed to analyze the relationship between national memory, historical studies and the development of archival science, as well as to determine the role of religious factors in the formation of collective memory, to explore cultural trauma as a form of symbolic representation, the influence of socio-mythological guidelines on the idea of the historical past, and so on. The study of national memory was carried out on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach by combining a lot of theoretical areas (hermeneutic, semiotic, structural-functional, network, psychoanalytic, cultural-anthropological, and others) with the involvement of various empirical material from various fields of socio-humanitarian knowledge (history, social anthropology, sociology, political science, etc.).
