In Ni-Mn-In-Co alloys, a giant ~ 250% reversible change of electrical resistance was observed in the course of significant (7- 10%) uniaxial deformation caused by stress-induced martensitic transformation, Direct measurements of the temperature dependence of magnetocaloric effect in the Ni-MnSb alloy showed that alloying the alloy with iron reduces this effect due to the strengthening of ferromagnetic correlations in the martensitic phase. The mechanism of hysteretic behavior of the magnetic transition in Ni51.9Mn27Ga21.1 alloy based on different Curie temperatures in the martensitic phase during heating and cooling was proposed. The unique situation with the hysteresis of the transition of the second order was found to be not an artifact, but a very real physical phenomenon. The magnetic, transport and optical properties of the Fe-Mn-Ga alloy have been studied. Changes of the magnetic and transport properties of this alloy in martensitic phase are in good agreement with the difference between electronic structures in the martensitic and austenitic phases.
