The developed modular powertrain systems have significant advantages over the classic ones. An electric drive system based on a synchronous machine with PM (PMSM) with open ends of the armature winding, which has two-way modular power supply has been developed. A T-shaped modular configuration of the AEV powertrain system has been proposed and developed. In order to ensure the asymmetry of the two-module electric machine with PMs, a new H-H-like configuration of the AEV powertrain system with hybrid battery-supercapacitor power supply is proposed. А computer model of two-module three-phase PMSM of asymmetric configuration with increased accuracy of modeling magnetic coupling between modules has been developed. Comparative studies have shown another advantage inherent in modular three-phase BLDCM – a significant reduction of the total electromagnetic torque ripple due to the asymmetric configuration of the modular PM machine with optimal angular displacement between the modules of the armature winding. A new procedure for the synthesis of control effects in the system of energy-shaping (passive) control using the theory of optimal control has been developed. The prospects of using the apparatus of fractional derivatives for the mathematical description of the operation of a number of control objects in the subsystems of AEV were shown. Layout samples of battery modules, supercapacitor modules, modular three-phase PMSM, as well as transistor voltage inverters were created.
