The purpose of this work is to study the influence of the Earth's magnetic field on the charged particles collection by electric probe in a rarefied plasma flow. Research methods: theoretical and experimental. A procedure for diagnosing nonequilibrium rarefied magnetized plasma using electronic saturation current on a cylindrical probe has been developed. Approximate dependences of the electron saturation current on the angle between the probe axis and the vector of the external magnetic field induction, as well as on the scale factors, are obtained. According to the results of bench (ITM NASU and SSAU) and spacecraft experiments it is found that, for angle more than 65° between the axis of the probe and the vector of the external magnetic field induction, electron saturation current on a cylindrical probe in a magnetized plasma equals that without external magnetic field. It is shown that the parameter of electron energy exchange and the component of the electric field in the plasma, parallel to the vector of the Earth 's magnetic field induction, can be used as additional criteria for identification of sources of external impact on ionospheric plasma. The results of the research are fundamental and applied: algorithms and procedures for the interpretation of current-voltage characteristics can be used to diagnose the ionospheric plasma, as well as to identify sources of plasma perturbations along the subsatellite track. The developed procedures of probe diagnostics of plasma are applied at carrying out experimental researches on the plasmaelectrodynamic set.
