Toluene causes apoptosis and functional disorder in immunocompetent cells due to its effect on the state of lipid peroxidation, the system of cyclic and adenyl nucleotides. Purpose of the study. To study in vitro the effect of toluene on the structure and acid resistance of human red blood cells, and to develop a way to correct the resulting disorders by using a drug with an antioxidant effect “Selenium active”. Materials and methods of research. Morphological (determination of morphological fractions of red blood cells and their acid resistance). Statistical methods: methods of variational statistics. Research results. Toluene in vitro causes an increase in the number of degenerative, prehemolytic and hemolysed forms of red blood cells. Pretreatment of red blood cells with Selenium active reduces the negative effect of toluene on the morphological state of red blood cells in vitro, improves their acid resistance indicators. Conclusions. 1. direct contact of toluene with red blood cells in vitro causes negative morphological disorders in them. The negative effect of toluene on red blood cells increases with an increase in the active concentration of toluene. 2.pretreatment of red blood cells with Selenium active reduces the negative effect of toluene on the morphological state of red blood cells in vitro, improves their acid resistance indicators.
